Course Description
Here’s some good info to know:
- An Instrument Rating requires 40 hours of simulated instrument, or “hood” time. Of this, 15 hours must be with a CFII.
- Another pre-requisite is having 50 hours of cross country PIC time. If you don’t have this, we can help you build cross country hours and keep your training efficient too.
- Typically, if you fly more frequently, you will retain knowledge from each flight better, and will spend less money overall during training. We recommend flying three days per week for best knowledge retention.
This course typically takes about 2-3 months to complete, if you are flying three days per week.
If you are doing this course full time, with one or two flights per day, you can get your Instrument Rating in as little as two weeks! If you are on a time crunch, we can assemble a perfect accelerated course for you.
In order to get an Instrument Rating, you will need the following:
- Hold at least an FAA Private Pilot Certificate
- US Citizenship, or be eligible for TSA Flight Training Authorization (we can help with this!)
- Third Class Medical Certificate (we can recommend some Aviation Medical Examiners)
